Andrew McAughey, Owner
Certified Arborist
Travelling from the rainforests along Canada’s West Coast to the boreal forests along our Canadian Shield, Andrew brings over a decade of experience to his company, blending his love of all things local and sustainable with the arboriculture profession.
Although he has a passion for tracking and climbing tree giants, Andrew is well-versed in the needs of garden plants found closer to the ground!

Andrew has a highly motivated staff who share his passion and vision for trees. Crew members are selected not only for their skills, but also for their ability to communicate and uphold standards put forward for them. Family Tree has been recognized for maintaining a safe, inclusive workplace with a unique and positive demeanour.
Andrew McAughey boasts an extensive 20+ year career in the Arboriculture industry. Over that time, Andrew has worked with different companies spanning across the country and incorporated ideas for his business. Andrew began his career as an apprentice with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities and gained Certification as an Arborist through the Province of Ontario. He has pursued various other accreditations through the International Society of Arboriculture, acquiring their Arborist Certification and Tree Risk Assessment qualification. Andrew has also given back to the industry, spending five years teaching various courses within the Arboriculture program at Algonquin College, three of which he held the position of lead instructor. He is celebrating his tenth year in business serving Ottawa/Gatineau. His standards of Arboriculture are inspired by companies that he believes are providing the highest level of professionalism in the world.
